What that means in plain English
If you click a link on this site and buy something, the brand or retailer may pay us a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same as if you'd typed the URL in directly.

How affiliates affect our scores
They don't. Our scoring system is set before a product hits the door, and we don't pre-negotiate any verdict in exchange for a commission rate. If a product flunks, the review still goes up. We've published 2-out-of-10 reviews of products we have an affiliate relationship with — we'll do it again.
What we never do
- Sponsored verdicts
- "Pay-to-be-included" best-pick lists
- Editing scores after publication based on commission negotiations
- Hiding negative reviews of brands we have affiliate deals with
