Pros
- Elongated reach supports serves, drives, and two-handed backhands.
- Partner play found a softer connection than the Aura Pro Elongated.
- The Lunar variant is currently listed as available by Friday's product feed.
Cons
- The narrow elongated face gives less off-center margin than the Aura Widebody.
- The peel-ply face needs normal care and can change with use.
- A separate store promotion is visible; PRH eligibility and stacking are unconfirmed.
The Friday Aura Elongated makes the most sense for a player who wants extra reach but does not want the firmer response of the Aura Pro line. In June partner sessions, it felt softer and more dwell-forward than the Pro Elongated, with enough pace when the swing came through cleanly. The tradeoff is a smaller stability margin than the Widebody, especially when contact drifts toward the edge.
The regular Aura in a longer frame
Friday lists the Aura as a 16mm Gen 4 paddle. The Elongated / Lunar variant appears in the product feed, while Friday’s current Aura collection separately displays a store promotion for that configuration. Store offers can change, and the listing does not establish whether another code will stack.
Partner testing recorded around 2,300 RPM of spin and a 61.1 mph serve on this shape. Those numbers are useful context for what the paddle did in that test setup, but the more practical distinction is its feel: the regular Aura connected more softly than the Pro model and gave the ball more dwell on drops and roll dinks. It was comfortable for players who wanted reach without the Pro’s immediate, firmer attack.
Reach comes with a stability trade
The elongated frame helped on deep serves, baseline drives, and two-handed backhands. It is not the easiest shape for a player who spends most points reacting to quick counters. The face is longer and narrower than a widebody, so off-center contact loses more composure. In fast doubles exchanges, the Aura Widebody is the safer option when forgiveness matters more than reach.
The standard Aura also should not be confused with the Aura Pro. The Aura Pro Elongated review covers a stiffer, more aggressive model. Choose the regular Aura if you prefer a softer connection and want the extended shape; choose Pro if you value a firmer speed-up response and can handle the swing.
Friday’s peel-ply carbon face is part of the spin-oriented feel. Like other textured faces, it can change with regular use. The partner notes found the early build sound, but long-term core compression data remains limited, so we would not treat a short test period as a durability guarantee.
Who should choose it
Choose the Aura Elongated if you already play well with long paddles, want additional reach, and prefer a more forgiving feel than Aura Pro. Skip it if you want a broad target for blocks or the firmest possible pace on speed-ups. The best pickleball paddles guide compares those shape priorities, and the Aura Widebody review covers the easier doubles outline.
Current Friday offer
The Friday product feed returned the Lunar Elongated variant as available on October 18, while the current Aura collection showed a separate store promotion for that selection. PRH eligibility on top of this promotion has not been checked. Open the Friday promo code page for the tracked route, then compare the live cart total before paying.
Verdict
The regular Aura Elongated is the softer-feeling Friday choice for players who want long-paddle reach. Its best work happens on committed serves and drives, while its narrower face makes rushed doubles defense less forgiving. The current Lunar promotion can make it more accessible, but verify the price and code in the cart rather than assuming both offers combine.
